Posting Payment Specialist

Quick Med Claims, a provider of best-in-class billing services for ground and air EMS, is seeking a Full-Time, Payment Posting Specialist Job to join our team.  At QMC we are dedicated to delivering compliant, personal service so that our clients can remain focused on patient care in their communities. 

While this is a work-from-home position the ideal candidate will be located in one of the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Maine, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience and relevant knowledge of revenue cycle functions
  • Minimum of two years of prior experience in a Payment Posting Specialist position (preferably working with Ambulance Claims), accounting, or similar specialty area of focus is required
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience with processing credit card payments and data entry
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurances is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to do basic math and the desire to work with numbers
  • Basic computer knowledge, and experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • One to two years of previous customer service experience 
  • Previous experience using a multiline phone system making outbound calls and receiving inbound calls is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Sufficient communication skills (both written and verbal)

What does a Payment Posting Specialist Do?

Payment Posting Specialist performs a wide variety of duties which include general accounting functions like posting payments and reconciling bank deposits.  A Posting Specialist is required to uphold all rules and regulations set by QMC’s standards and federal guidelines.  Other responsibilities include pulling deposits from bank lockbox sites, pulling remits from various sources to post payments, running deposit reports to ensure daily deposits are balanced, and posting denials.
